WHY YOU MUST LEARN MARKETING (or build a business nobody knows).

“Business has only two functions- marketing and innovation”- Milan Kundera

Imagine building a company that produces a super serum that can continuously prevent food from ever rotting and also enhances the growth of crops.

You could probably solve world hunger right?

But here's the twist: No one knows you exist!

Do you really think you could achieve the goal of solving world hunger?

Ofcourse not!

Now let's look at another equally extreme but opposite example:

This time you have nothing to offer the world but an idea.

You spend all the time and resources necessary to gain the skills of selling your idea to as many that walk the face of this earth.

YOU LEARN TO MARKET YOUR COMPANY (which has no product yet).

But you're already getting attention from millions of people, requesting a product that can solve a certain challenge they're facing.

Now if you decide to come up with a product addressing even just one of those problems, do you think you will make it?

Ofcourse you would!

That's because you have spent time “sharpening your axe” (getting the necessary skills like marketing) and now getting the results you want is no longer a challenge.

Marketing is a fundamental skill in every walk of your entrepreneurial journey.

“A product which is superior, will always lose to a product which looks superior”

This is something I heard Dan Koe say in one of his videos and that is the truth.

It is the power of marketing.

It doesn't matter how much value you can offer the world if nobody knows you.

And that is not limited to only business.

A good understanding of marketing entails: Good communication skills, good understanding of human psychology, the ability to position yourself and whatever you have to offer as valuable.

If you think about it, these are all skills you need to succeed in any walk of life.

So if you want to stand out and actually make a difference in whatever area of life it is that you're currently focused on (especially if it involves entrepreneurship),

Learn marketing as a fundamental skill.
